Freefall Lies

The 9-11 “Truth” Movement insists that the Twin Towers fell at or near free-fall speeds (and in some cases, faster than freefall). Once again, they’re clueless.

The problem is, as points out, one needs to do a bit of calculation to find the actual collapse time, and the debris cloud obscuring the final seconds of collapse makes this problematic. As we see here, the estimates are anywhere from 8-15 seconds. has this to say about freefall:

The rate of free fall in a vacuum, at least, is easier to define. The towers were around 417 meters tall (excluding the spire), giving 417 = 0.5 gt², so with g = 9.8m/s², that gives a time of about 9.22 seconds. So if you dropped a ball off the roof, and there were no air resistance, then that’s the time it would take to reach the ground. ( 417 meters is about 1,368 ft)

Furthermore, this same source reminds us that if the towers fell completely down in 8.4 seconds, they would have fallen faster than gravity, which, without assistance, is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE, so unless someone attached rocket engines to the collapsing debris, the towers could NOT fall faster than freefall- the evidence is also AGAINST the claim that explosives created a powerful vacuum, as evidenced by the picture found here. Note the location of the debris, which WAS in freefall, relative to the rest of the building. Cleary, if the debris is freefalling and the rest of the building is falling SLOWER than said debris, the towers could NOT have collapsed at freefall speeds.

For the south tower collapse times, you need to go here, and it is pointed out that Naudet documentary, which was in the North Tower lobby when the south tower collapsed was able to record the sound of the collapsing south tower. Furthermore, provides a video, and states that the rumbling which signals the start of the collapse begins at the 8 second mark, and CONTINUOSLY gets louder. Furthermore, the tower probably collapsed at the 7 second mark, allowing for the time it takes sound to travel. In addition, they heard sounds of major debris hitting at the 14 second mark, and the rumble is replaced by local destruction such as flying glass at the 22 second mark, for an approximate collapse time of 14 seconds ( reference).

As for the north tower, once again, Naudet recorded it here and the start time of the collapse is anywhere from the beginning of the video to the 3 second point at the latest. Again, the sound of the collapse gets louder, but reduced a bit at 18 seconds, for an approximate time of 15 seconds. Hint: Explosives don’t make continuous rumbling sounds- they simply make a “boom” and stop.

Finally, this quote from here exposes the dishonesty of the 9-11 “Truth” Movement:

Deceptive videos stop the timer of the fall at 10:09 when only the perimeter column hits the ground and not the building itself. If you notice, the building just finishes disappearing behind the debris cloud which is still about 40 stories high.
