Here are yet more lies from Loose Change Second Edition, specifically regarding the Pentagon and Flight 77 ( source).

At 12 minutes and 41 seconds, Loose Change repeats the 911 “Truth” Movement claim that the fact that Hani Hanjour executed a 330 degree turn at 530 MPH proves a government conspiracy. However, as we see here, said turn was more than likely a result of inexperience.

Loose Change quotes Russ Wittenberg, a pilot, as saying no plane hit the Pentagon- it was a missile. However, this quote from here shows the problems with Wittenberg’s claims: “Yes, Wittenburg is a pilot. He is also a conspiracy theorist who does not believe that ANY aircraft hit the Pentagon, which makes him stupid or insane. Too bad, because his former co-workers were on that plane. I wonder what he thinks happened to them. He believes a missile hit the Pentagon. He has not produced a single piece of evidence to back that belief. He has not attempted to account for the dozens of eyewitnesses who saw the crash.” Wittenberg is not the only conspiracy nut that ignores the NUMEROUS eyewitness accounts.

At 13 minutes and 42 seconds, Loose Change uses Hanjour’s difficulty in landing a single-engine Cessna. Of course, what the “truthers” neglect to mention is that neither Hanjour nor any of the other hijackers bothered with the take-off; they let the pilots handle that and they obviously didn’t intend to land the planes. Furthermore, Hanjour DID have a commercial pilot’s license, including instrument ratings ( source).

At about 15 minutes and 15 seconds into the film, Avery provides the usual statement that air traffic controllers thought Flight 77 was a military plane, while ignoring the fact that saying they THOUGHT it was a military plane is NOT the same as saying it was a military plane ( reference).

This quote from here provides the counter-argument ( emphasis is mine): “15:15 The on-screen quote from Danielle O’Brien, Dulles ATC, is not complete. Here’s the whole quote: ‘The speed, the maneuverability, the way that he turned, we all thought in the radar room, all of us experienced air traffic controllers, that that was a military plane,” O’Brien said. “you don’t fly a 757 in that manner. It’s unsafe.’ ” Note, she didn’t say that you CAN’T perform those maneuvers in a 757- she simply said it wasn’t safe. Hint: Terrorists intent on killing people don’t care about passenger safety.

Also, in the same time frame, Loose Change makes the following claim about the light poles as indicated by this quote here: On November 22nd, 2004, a private jet en route to Houston to pick up George Bush Senior clipped a single light pole and crashed a minute away from landing at Houston’s Hobby Airport.”

As this site points out, a minute away from the airport is quite a ways from the runway.

Loose Change further makes the statement that the wing ripped off on impact and scattered debris over 100 yards; however, this link points out several details Loose Change ignores: 1) What did the wing impact with, the ground or a pole ( and what type of pole was it?), 2) Where was it ( the wing) hit, 3) Did anyone see the wing being ripped off, 4) How big was the jet- Loose Change admits it was a private jet and last time I checked, those tend to be a tad smaller than a 757, and 5) How fast was the jet going- more than likely, it was proceeding at landing speed, which is SLOWER than 530 MPH.

At 15 minutes and 46 seconds, Loose Change claims Flight 77 tore 5 light poles out of the ground without any damage to the wings or light poles ( source). However, the picture shown here just below the Loose Change claim shows one of those “undamaged” light poles- furthermore, light poles have breakaway bases for the safety of car occupants.

If you go down to 15 minutes and 59 seconds, shown here, you’ll see a few pictures. The first picture is the one CT’s use to prove that no plane hit the Pentagon- the problem is the view is obscured by the smoke and fire-fighting chemicals; hardly conclusive evidence of a conspiracy.

The second picture from the time frame shown here shows what “truthers” think Flight 77’s crashing should have looked like- and they claim Flight 77 crash landed and skidded.

However, as we see here, if Flight 77 crashed the way Loose Change claims it did, it would have gone sliding across MULTIPLE LANES of RUSH HOUR traffic on I-395. SOMEONE would have noticed that had it happened.

Finally, as for Loose Change’s claim that there was no trace of Flight 77 at 16 minutes and 23 seconds, as we see here, that could not be farther from the truth. As usual, the “truthers” use a picture where the building is obscured by smoke and such. Again, as this link points out, Flight 77 didn’t crash NEAR the Pentagon, it crashed INTO the Pentagon.

It’s called research and fact-checking – I suggest the “truthers” try it sometime.
